Vikings Valhalla season three will be the end of the journey of the epic drama and thankfully, the wait is almost over.
The historical fiction spin-off has gone down a storm with Netflix subscribers since it initially made its debut two years ago.
The world of Vikings first came to be with the original show which aired on History Channel before Vikings Valhalla was brought to life, following what happened 100 years on.
When is the release date for Vikings Valhalla season 3?
Vikings: Valhalla was last seen in January 2023 with no word on exactly when the violent drama would be returning.
But fear not, as Netflix has now announced that season three of Vikings Valhalla is going to drop on Thursday, July 11.
It hasn’t been made clear how many episodes it will consist of but going by previous series, the third outing is likely to be made up of eight instalments.
This spin-off has been following a new generation of legendary heroes when there was growing tension between the Vikings and the English in the 11th Century.
The main characters in Valhalla are inspired by Norse mythology and “must fight for their own beliefs, territory and legacy”, according to Tudum.
Its return, however, will be bittersweet as it has already been revealed that season three is going to be the show’s last.
Co-creator and executive producer Jeb Stuart said: “I am so grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald, and Freydís.
“I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today, and we have done just that.
“I hope when the audience gets to see the new season, they’ll be excited by all the new heights that we’ve taken these heroes.”
Vikings Valhalla season 3 premieres on Thursday, July 11, on Netflix.
