BBC Breakfast 's Carol Kirkwood revealed to Naga Munchetty on-air that she was "shaking".

The 62-year-old meteorologist joined her co-stars Naga and Charlie Stayt via a massive screen in the BBC studio on Thursday. The two daytime hosts had previously been chatting about a very talented child chess player, when talk suddenly turned to the weather.

However, it seemed that Naga, 49, was still up for talking about the abstract strategy game as she compared Carol's role to the two-player pastime. She commented: "Do you know that I often think that for Carol, there's a game of chess played here every day, it's like you're always trying to anticipate the next move, aren't you Carol?"

"Yes, trying to work out what's going to come my way Naga," added the weary weather expert. "Exactly, always slightly unnerving, which is quite enjoyable sometimes," responded her co-star.

"I'm standing here shaking in my shoes," quipped Carol. "No you're not!" chimed back Naga as they both began to awkwardly chuckle.

Returning to the weather, the Radio 5 Live presenter moved on with the show, she asked: "Gorgeous day behind you, from that picture but a mixed picture, is that fair?"

Carol was keen to get on with business too, telling Naga "absolutely, right" as she delivered her overview for the day. Meanwhile, it was revealed on Wednesday that BBC bosses have decided to axe a number of shows on Friday, July 5.

The schedule shake-up will make way for appropriate election coverage with BBC under going a major reshuffle as - with nearly all its morning and daytime programmes being dropped.

Oridinarily, Jon Kay and Sally Nugent lead the charge, typically kicking off the day with BBC Breakfast news coverage from 6am before handing over to BBC Morning Live's Gethin Jones, Helen Skelton and Michelle Ackerley. According to Radio Times television guide, none of the usual morning favourites will feature in the line up.
