EastEnders' Navin Chowdhry has dropped a bombshell about his character Nish Panesar, warning that he's "more dangerous than ever" as he hints at a dramatic departure from the show.
Chowdhry, who burst onto the scene in 2022 as the menacing tycoon, has quickly become one of Albert Square's most notorious antagonists. As the head honcho of the Panesar family, Nish's reign has been marred by violence and villainy, including an attempted murder and the abuse of his wife Suki.
His stint in Walford has been anything but dull, with tensions currently at a fever pitch following his unexpected return to the soap, bearing grave news for his kin: he's terminally ill.
Earlier this year, Nish was ousted from the family abode, but now he's back in Walford, leaving his estranged kin and neighbours reeling from the surprise. Initially, the Panesars were sceptical about welcoming him back, doubting the veracity of his terminal illness.
However, it soon came to light that Nish is suffering from a severe heart condition caused by a virus, leading to a diagnosis of viral myocarditis and a dire need for a heart transplant, reports the Daily Star.
While Ravi, Nish's son, decided to bury the hatchet and support his father, his ex-wife Suki and another son, Vinny, were not so forgiving. Eventually, after much deliberation, Vinny pledged to stand by his father during these trying times.
In a shocking turn of events, however, it's unveiled that Vinny is duping Nish, with Suki's assistance, aiming to secure the Panesar empire for himself.

Actor Navin has teased a dramatic departure from the soap as his villainous character "has nothing to lose". Chatting with Radio Times, he revealed: "It's up to the viewers what they choose to believe, but if illness is going to consume Nish, then he's not going to go quietly."
"Look at what he did when he was of good health he behaved so recklessly and had no moral compass. There were no limits beforehand, imagine if he knew people are betraying him behind the scenes he's got nothing to lose and could be more dangerous than he's ever been.."
Moreover, Navin disclosed that fans often confuse him with his nefarious on-screen persona, leading to uncomfortable situations. In a conversation with Daily Star, he expressed his concerns: "There have been moments when we've had scenes and I'll speak to the producer and I'll say, 'I'm going to have to go on the school run and you're making me beat up every woman on Albert Square'. I've been scared."
