Coronation Street fans have finally been introduced to DS Lisa Swain's daughter - and she's a familar face.
Betsy Swain is played by 22-year-old actress Sydney Martin who recently gradulated from drama school. Fans were left on the edge of their seats during Friday's (June 28) epsiode of the ITV soap as DS Swain headed to a park where she greeted her daughter.
The pair clashed immediately - and Swain demanded that the teen get in the car to go home. The huge reveal will come as a shock to viewers as the youngster actually appeared on screens this week.
Betsy is good friends with Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos)- who sinister solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) is trying to groom. Sabrina’s pal, now known as Betsy, soon pointed out how Joel was a creep and that she should stay clear. She took his card and pretended to chuck it away - only to actually keep it.
Later on, though, Betsy confronted Joel and attempted to blackmail him. Warning she has a “big gob” the newcomer threatened to expose Joel for his creepy behaviour.

Fans will have to wait and see why DS Swain's relationship with her mum is so frosty and if Betsy has anything to do with Joel being unmasked as Lauren Bolton's (Cait Fitton) attacker.
Betsy is actress Sydney's first TV role but she is no stranger from posing in front of the camera. Her Instagram page, which is currently followed by 1,588 followers, is full of pictures from lavish trips abroad to adorable family snaps.
In one photograph, blonde Sydney looks goregeous as ever as she donned a bright yellow dress for her graduation ball last summer. Proudly holding a glass up the camera, the newest Corrie star beamed with a huge grin on her face.

Before landing her Coronation Street role, Sydney appeared in stage shows and a feature film called Assassins Guild. She is also friends with Hollyoaks newcomer Isabelle Smith, who currenntly plays Frankie Osbourne in the Channel 4 soap.
Isabelle commented: "So proud of you! Love you forever xxx" underneath Sydney's Instagram post in which she shared two snaps from her drama school gradulation.
Fans will have to wait and see what drama Betsy brings to Weatherfield.
