Morning Live's Gethin Jones shares show update
BBC Morning Live viewers have reacted following Jason Manford's presenting debut on the popular breakfast series. The comedian joined Gaby Roslin on the show on Friday, June 28, stepping in for Gethin Jones.
Prior to his debut, Jason and Gethin shared a sweet exchange as the Welsh presenter sent a supportive message to the star, leading Jason to tell him he was "keeping his seat warm" for him in his absence. Jason had said he was "delighted" to be joining the Morning Live team but warned viewers he was likely to "bring a little chaos" to the sofa.
And following his stint on the show, BBC viewers have now taken to social media to share their thoughts on Jason's debut.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, after the presenter took part in the show's Strictly Fitness segment, @MichelleBoudin_ wrote: "'Crikey I've got a stitch' .. Blumming love you @JasonManford. Strictly will be on the phone soon."
As @boodlesjw added: "@JasonManford. You’ve just made my morning doing that dancing. I was crying with laughter at your facial expressions."
Meanwhile, @Carolin44283794 told the presenter: "You did really well," as @JanetCu36864508 echoed: "@JasonManford my goodness you look [fire emoji] this morning. You’re an absolute natural - you look very comfortable presenting."
"Stunning to wake up to @JasonManford on my tv," wrote @leahhmariee93. "There’s definitely perks to falling asleep at 3am with the tv still on. Also pasta at not even 10.30am is absolutely how I want to live."
After BBC bosses announced Jason's debut, the 43-year-old said: "I'm delighted to have been asked to guest co-host Morning Live this week. I always love supporting a Manchester-based show and every time I've been on as a guest, the team have always been a real pleasure to work with."
He added: "I'm looking forward to bringing a little chaos to the sofa once we go live!" Luckily, for those that enjoyed Jason on the screens, the BBC has confirmed he will return on Wednesday, July 3, to co-host alongside Helen Skelton.
Meanwhile, Gethin and Helen will be back on the famous sofa as usual on Monday, July 1.
