The 1988 action thriller classic, Die Hard is now available to stream on Disney Plus for a limited time only. UK users are able to sign up to Disney Plus from as little as £4.99 a month with ads, with a standard subscription at £7.99 a month and premium for £10.99.
Bruce Willis stars as New York city policeman John McClane who is visiting his estranged wife and two daughters on Christmas Eve. After joining her at a holiday party at the headquarters of the business she works at, the celebration is soon interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise.
John quickly realises that he has to step up to save the hostages, with chaos ensuing in this nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat thriller. As well as Bruce, the movie also starred Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber, the leader of the terrorists, Alexander Godunov as second in-command Karl, and Bonnie Bedelia as John's estranged wife Holly Gennaro-McClane.
Die Hard is considered one of the best action movies of all time and was considered to have revitalised the action genre at the time. Bruce's depiction of John McClane as a vulnerable protagonist was a stark difference from the muscular and invincible heroes of other films at the time.
Following the 1998 release, the action film spawned four sequels over a 25 year period. Die Hard 2 was released in 1990, just two years after the original, followed by Die Hard with a Vengeance in 1995. Next up was Live Free of Die Hard which came out in 2007 and A Good Day to Die Hard in 2013.

Bruce was just 33-years-old when he landed the gig as John McClane and he was eager to make a mark on the film industry.
This meant doing all of his own stunts and putting as much physical effort into the performance as possible.
His excitement almost turned fatal just a few days into filming when a stunt involving him jumping off a five-storey building sent him flying through the air on the wrong trajectory.
As he leapt off the building, explosions were set off to complete the incredible stunt - but something went awry during the caper's preparation.

Disney+ now costs as little as £4.99 a month for the Standard with Ads plan, but members can get 12 months for the price of 10 by paying for a year upfront on the Standard or Premium plans.
Disney+ is the only place to stream epic shows including The Bear and Shōgun, plus blockbuster franchises like Star Wars and Marvel.
When the explosions were set off Bruce was caught in the crossfire, sending him way off course on his fall.
As a result, he just barely managed to land on the giant airbag placed beneath him for safety.
He landed on the edge of the safety mat and - against all odds - was completely unharmed.
