Eastenders: Will Mitchell pushes Stevie to the floor

EastEnders took a grim twist on Tuesday (June 25) when Will Mitchell's storyline escalated dramatically, leaving his grandfather Stevie in peril after an intense altercation.

The drama unfolded following the charity event for Lola Pearce last week, where Stevie became the main suspect when the fundraiser's proceeds vanished. Despite his protests of innocence, Stevie found himself ostracised by Walford's residents, all while he vowed to unmask the real thief.

Complicating matters, Stevie was privy to the secret that Will had been ensnared into a catfishing scheme, leading to him being blackmailed with an indecent image he'd sent. Stevie had pledged to gather £300 to settle the blackmail, but the cash was still outstanding.

When Stevie grilled Will about the missing charity money, Will feigned ignorance and deflected suspicion onto Gina Knight, a reformed drug addict.

This redirection caused further turmoil as Stevie confronted Gina at The Queen Vic, resulting in her brother Junior Knight ejecting Stevie from the pub, reports MyLondon.

Phil Mitchell's warning to Stevie only ignited more rage, prompting Stevie to dredge up a past incident involving a sheriff's hat from Billy's childhood party, which Phil had taken. Phil dismissed Stevie, yet it was evident Stevie refused to acknowledge Phil's authority over the Mitchell clan.

In a later scene, Big Mo lent a sympathetic ear to Stevie, but when he mentioned Will's misleading tip about Gina, she planted a seed of doubt in Stevie's mind about Will's desperation hinting he might be capable of "very stupid" actions.

Billy was completely unaware of his son Will's actions, but after he once again rejected Stevie, Phil infuriated Will by continuously blaming Stevie for the theft. Following this, Stevie trailed Will home, demanding the truth.

Will expressed his regret, but when Stevie insisted it was time to confess, Will declined. When Stevie attempted to prevent him from leaving, Will shoved him over.

In a shocking turn of events, Stevie fell and hit his head, with Will fleeing the flat and leaving his unconscious grandad behind.

As Stevie lay motionless, who will come to his rescue? As the week unfolds, Stevie's secret family also makes an appearance.

EastEnders airs Monday - Thursday on BBC One at 7:30pm, and on iPlayer.
