The One Show: Bruno Tonioli makes appearance as a guest

The One Show welcomed Britain's Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli to the studio today (April 18) to talk about the new series of the Saturday night TV favourite. However, as hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp chatted to him as he sat alongside fellow guest Zara McDermott viewers were completely distracted by his deep tan.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, many compared him to a well known varnish brand as some believed he went overboard with using skin tan products. @sdfpk commented: "Tonioli definitely fell into a vat of Cuprinol #theoneshow."

@swilliams73 agreed writing: "Bruno. The official sponsor of Cuprinol #TheOneShow." @bigajm choose a different brand for their comparison writing: "Bruno's just back from a fortnight in Ronseal. #TheOneShow."

@Pete_ZaneEarl77 went with a brand of soda pop for his comparison saying: "Bruno. You’ve been tangoed!! #theoneshow." @ihnewman chimed in:"#theoneshow Bruno gone a bit brown." While others suggested the talent judge looked unrecognisable.

Bruno's tan was only enhanched by his choice of outfit which comprised of a mesh looking white shirt with floral embroidery and stone coloured trousers.

The former Strictly Come Dancing judge was on the show to talk about what viewers can expect when Britain's Got Talent returns on Saturday (April 20).

Describing what it took for the singing hopefuls to get past the judges he said: "You know a lot of people try to copy a singer and that is failure.

"You have to take a song and give it your own interpretation it has to be true to you.

"The moment it is true to you it connects with the audience and you feel like they sing to you personally. When people have that I just go crazy," he admitted.

Despite confirming his enthusiasm for singers on the show Bruno refused to divulge anything about contestants or what they sang despite being probed by Roman about it.

However, fans have had a taste of what they can expect in a 30-second teaser clip which features some performers from this year's auditions.

The acts include singers, circus performers, fire eaters, comedians and dancers. There is also a brief look at someone wearing a goldfish head mask as part of their audition.

The One Show is on BBC One nightly at 7pm.
