Emmerdale: Chloe Harris slams 'self-centred' Mackenzie

Lawrence Robb has teased a return for two stars.

Viewers will remember at the end of last year. After Charity (Emma Atkins) killed her father Harry (Robert Beck) in self-defence, Chloe blackmailed Mackenzie into allowing her to leave without him following them.

Mackenzie has been struggling to deal with the absence of his son ever since, while Lawrence also misses his co-star. He told Digital Spy: "I was gutted when Jessie left – me and Jessie got on really well. I still speak to her quite a lot.

"It was bittersweet, I guess, in many ways because whilst I really enjoyed working with her while we were on set, I know that she's doing really well now."

Lawrence continued: "I know that she's really enjoying doing what she's doing now. So while it was sad on one level, I'm also very happy for her."

Teasing a potential return for the character, the soap star added: "There's always scope and I think they left it deliberately open for Chloe and Reuben to potentially return. But at the moment I don't know."

Jessie bowed out of the show just after Christmas following two years of playing Chloe. After her exit, the actress thanked her colleagues as she reflected on her soap journey.

"I’ve had the best two years of my life playing Chloe and being a part of Emmerdale," she said. "Over those two years it never got any less surreal to walk through the stage door at studios or to be stood outside the Woolpack at the village."

Jessie continued: "I feel so privileged to have been given this opportunity and to have been trusted with such wonderful storylines.

"I really got to tick off the soap bingo card; giving birth, discovering new family members, a big stunt, a soapy slap, and even a classic back of the taxi exit!"

The star went on: "All while working with, and learning from, incredibly talented people that I’d grown up watching on screen. I’m sure you’ve heard other cast members say that being in Emmerdale is like being part of a big family but it couldn’t be more true."
