Farage set to make a decision about his political career

It looks as though Good Morning Britain viewers were less than impressed with seeing Nigel Farage appear on Wednesday morning's show. As the GB News host appeared via video link from Brussels, many fans were quick to change channels.

Sharing their thoughts, @Scousesaint commented: “Farage on GMB-switched over.” @julesbrown12 reeled: “@GMB get Farage .. who has failed at everything and is part of why we are in the mess we are … OFF OUR TV!”

@ellielikesmedia tweeted: “It's not even half past eight in the morning and Nigel Farage is on my TV.” @angelastreet10 added: “Time to switch channels, Farage next.”

@tavole wrote: “Farage on ...@GMB off!” However, not every viewer shared the same view as some praised Nigel for how he conducted himself.

@Kenneth46694531 added: “@GMB well done Nigel Farage, for answering these cynics Ed Balls and co-presenter.” Elsewhere in the interview, it seemed as though there was some slight tension between Nigel and Ed.

Touching on the last time Nigel was on the show, following his appearance on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Ed highlighted his attitude towards him.

He commented: “I said to you on screen I thought you were getting a bit touchy, I mentioned it a moment ago.

“I didn’t understand at the time, I think actually the reason was because I compared you to Matt Hancock and for that, I’ve just got to offer you a full and wholesome apology.”

As Nigel laughed, he thanked Ed for his apology before things turned slightly awkward.

Ed was keen to know about Nigel’s plans for the upcoming year as he highlighted how former Prime Minister Liz Truss wants Nigel to return to the conservative party.

The ITV host added: “I don’t want to upset you again Nigel, but let’s be honest, is an endorsement from Liz Truss, likely to help you in your future political career?”

He replied: “I’ve got no intentions of joining this conservative party, at this moment in time. I have absolutely no idea what they stand for on any issue at all, nor do they.

“We’re right at the end of 14 years of total failure, so it’s very sweet of Liz Truss to say that but I won’t be joining the conservative party.

“In terms of what I may or may not do, I simply haven’t yet decided.”

Nigel told the presenters that he’s noticed Reform is getting stronger, although mentioned the hard thing is taking on the established parties.

He added: “You’ve got to overcome the first part of the post, voting system, not easy. I’ve got to make a big decision on this within the next few weeks.”

Ed cheekily asked: “Eighth time lucky?”

Nigel swiped: “Well I’ve won two national elections Ed, leading two different political parties running for the European parliament, no one has ever done that before.

Ed jibed: “I think you’re getting a bit prickly again.”

Although Nigel added: “No I’m not, I’m just giving you the facts, it’s all very easy for people like you that were elected to parliament as members of the labour party to think, ’Oh aren’t we big and important, why can't Farage get elected?’”

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV from 6am.
