This Morning: Alison Hammond in encounter with The Apprentice's Phil Turner

In a candid confession, This Morning's star, Alison Hammond, revealed she cheekily takes advantage of the times when travellers on the London Underground mistakenly offer her a seat thinking she is pregnant.

Her admission unfolded during a light-hearted banter with co-host Dermot O'Leary, inspired by Gary Lineker's exclamation of offence at being offered a seat due to his age of 63.

While discussing the etiquette of offering seats, Dermot expressed: "I still like offering up a seat," an opinion which initially gained Alison's agreement, as she told guest Nick Ferrari, "Sometimes you like to stand up, it's nice to stand up, you don't want to sit down all the time."

However, upon Dermot's querying, if she liked being accorded a chair, the former Big Brother contestant unhesitatingly exposed her manoeuvre: "Oh yeah, absolutely, everyone thinks I'm pregnant and I just go 'yeah, I'll sit down', I'll take the seat any day."

Guest Tim Campbell added his two cents to the discussion suggesting that such generosity shown to Alison was a result of people being "besotted" with her.

To this, a flattered Alison retorted playfully: "Do you think? I'll take that!" Before jestingly adding, "And I'll sit down, and then a pregnant woman stands up!"

As the segment concluded, Alison amusingly labelled Dermot a "cheeky monkey", following his admission of sneaking peeks at her in her dressing room, reports the Mirror.

Dermot, co-host of This Morning, has playfully disclosed his pre-show ritual, leaving Alison Hammond astonished. Admitting that he checks out her attire beforehand, Dermot stated: "I always just know, I always see what you're wearing."

Alison, curious as ever, probed him on how he accomplishes this, to which Dermot cheekily confessed that he takes a sneak peek at her "through the keyhole".

This surprising revelation caused Alison to exclaim in surprise: "Is that what you're doing? You cheeky monkey!"

Alison, meanwhile, has moved to rival station BBC after her thriving stint on ITV's This Morning. She will work on a new exciting show where she spends two days with various celebrities.

Titled 'Alison Hammond's Big Weekend', the six-part series is geared to offer viewers an insightful peek into the lives and homes of renowned figures while maintaining an atmosphere filled with laughter and fascinating disclosures.

Alison, originally from Birmingham, sounded thrilled about her latest adventure, remarking: "I'm so excited to serve up some big lols (laugh out louds) and tons of omg (oh my god) revelations on the BBC as I spend some quality time with some of the UK's favourite celebrities. When I'm on a mission no secret is safe, and trust me no stone or cupboard will go unturned."

The 49-year-old TV veteran first shot to stardom on Big Brother. Alongside Dermot O'Leary, she also hosts ITV's This Morning every Friday where several of her star interviews have created quite a buzz, including memorable encounters with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

As well as joining Channel 4's The Great British Bake Off line-up, she has taken over from Paul O'Grady on For The Love of Dogs.

This Morning airs on weekdays on ITV and ITVX from 10am.
