viewers have speculated a concerning twist for Ruby Fox-Miligan (played by Beth Cordingly) after intense scenes with her husband Caleb (Will Ash). Fans suspect there's more to Ruby's story than what has been disclosed so far.

Ruby lost her temper again at the Dingles over their treatment of her husband, Caleb in Thursday night's episode. The couple has been in constant disagreement since their reunion a few weeks ago, with Ruby frequently seeking reassurance.

She has previously confessed about Caleb leaving her and being unfaithful, while she yearns for his love and wants him to prioritise her above all else. His eagerness to connect with his long-lost family has left Ruby feeling neglected and unnecessary.

Their confrontations have become increasingly heated and during Thursday's trip to the Dales, Ruby unintentionally injured Caleb's sister, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) just weeks after her double mastectomy.

Before revealing that she and Caleb had seen Cain's prison sentencing in 2022, Ruby had been berating Chas and the Dingles.

The Dingles had disowned him after he slept with his nephew Nate Robinson's (Jurell Carter) wife, Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh).

In the most recent tension-filled episode, Ruby blew her top at her husband's family, unintentionally drawing Chas into the fray which left everyone shocked.

After witnessing the chaotic scene, Caleb advised Ruby to depart and relocate without him, standing his ground that he would not accompany her.

Despite Ruby's frantic efforts to salvage their crumbling relationship, he dubiously labelled her as poisonous and accused her of persistently precipitating fights without yielding for him to voice out.

Reminding him she had deserted her own family for him, his retort was curt, telling her she was "boring" for repetitively bringing up the past, and accused her of always making everything revolve "about her".

Moreover, he unloaded his deep-seated resentment towards her, revealing that his happiest moments were his solitary months feeling "young and free".

As Caleb urged Ruby to make an exit, speculators began to wonder if there was something more sinister to the story, and many seemed to think Ruby and Tom King (James Chase) would make a better couple.

A viewer mentioned: "I think Ruby is a controller like Tom but at this point obviously Tom is a lot worse."

Another pleaded: "Please, please Emmerdale writers/producers don't get rid of Ruby or Caleb, these two have the makings of great characters!! #Emmerdale."

"Also I can’t stand Ruby anymore #Emmerdale do one!!!!" a third added as a fourth echoed: "Ruby is unhinged, she should shack up with Tom they'd make the perfect messed up couple!"

A fifth went on: "Imagine Tom and Ruby together - they will both have killed each other by the end of the first-day #Emmerdale."

A sixth asked: "How long before the mad people writing this have Tom and Ruby have an affair and try to murder all the dingles like some broken couple of weirdos."

"Ruby needs binning. #Emmerdale," someone else said.

Emmerdale broadcasts on weekday nights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
