Coronation Street: Paul makes promise to Summer as she leaves

Each week, fans of the soap usually get their Weatherfield fix on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. However, regular broadcasting slots have been slightly altered this week.

There will be no episode broadcast on Friday evening, instead, viewers will be able to watch the soap for three nights in a row from Monday. The three hour-long episodes will now air Monday to Wednesday.

It comes as the channel will be airing the women’s UEFA Euro 2025 Qualifier from 7:30pm, which would interfere with Coronation Street’s start time of 8pm. The live match will see England go head-to-head with Sweden and is expected to finish at 10:15pm.

However, it seems as though some viewers aren’t thrilled with the change, which has been done multiple times in the past. @TnsBAW said: “The soap schedule change this week is #Corrie on Tuesday instead of Friday. [football] strikes again.”

@MattZeeMiller reeled: “Get #Corrie @itvcorrie back to half-hour episodes, pair it with half-hour @emmerdale Mon to Friday same schedule every week, then if footy on easy to reschedule episode, only hour long when big storyline.”

@Matt528chap reeled: “Here we go again-Due to yet more football, Emmerdale will be on at 7:00 on Friday 5th April whilst the displaced #Corrie will be shown on Tuesday 2nd April at 8:00.”

The schedule change comes after dramatic scenes last Friday which saw Glenda Shuttleworth (played by Jodie Prenger) ambushed during a robbery at the Rovers Return.

Following a successful night hosting speed dating at the pub, Glenda had closed up and was heading to bed before hearing ominous noises from downstairs.

Going down to investigate, she was horrified when she realised there were two masked robbers with baseball bats robbing the place.

As they screamed at her to get on the floor, a terrified Glenda obeyed before calling the police when they left.

Although she put on a brave face for Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) and Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) when they learnt what had happened, it was clear the situation left her shaken.

Throughout the episode, Glenda was seen having terrifying flashbacks over what had happened to her, which left viewers worried about her mental health.

While Glenda continues to grapple with the horrifying burglary, it seems as though there’s more trouble on the way for the pub owners.

In upcoming scenes, Daisy continues to flaunt their new wealth after stealing Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) money.

While Jenny grows nervous about the whole situation, it seems as though the pressure of keeping this secret becomes too much for her.

As Carla Connor (Alison King) finds her upset in Victoria Gardens, Jenny reveals everything about taking the money that Stephen had stolen from her to save the pub.

Now that Carla knows the truth, what does that mean for Daisy and Jenny’s future?

Coronation Street continues this week on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm.
