Coronation Street: Evelyn and Cassie
Coronation Street viewers believe they’ve worked out who Tyrone Dobbs’ (Played by Alan Halsall) real dad is. During the episode, viewers saw his mum, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), open up about some of her troubled past.
Reading an article about missing teen Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), Cassie was visibly worked up when reading she was an apparent sex worker. Confessing to Tyrone she was once involved in sex work herself, the recovering addict was forced to remember some traumatic events.
Having a heart-to-heart with her mum Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman), Cassie comes clean that although she didn’t tell her at the time, her father knew. She said: “Having a daughter that sold herself, that’s what killed him.”
Cassie told Evelyn that when she was 15, her older boyfriend would make her sleep with people for money. Curious, she wanted to know how her father found out about her sex work.
In the episode, she confessed: “He found some condoms and £100 in my bag, I suppose deep down I wanted to be caught. I wanted someone to step in and save me. But, my dad, he just couldn't cope. He slapped me and said I shamed the family and told me not to tell you.”
During their conversation, she revealed that Tyrone’s biological father was one of her former clients.
Admitting that her father also knew she was pregnant, Evelyn was curious to know why he never said anything to her.
However, Cassie put an abrupt end to the conversation and asked her mum not to tell Tyrone.
She pleaded: “There are some things, he’s best not knowing.

When Cassie first appeared in Weatherfield, viewers believed Tyrone’s dad could be Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) after noticing some tension between him and the new arrival.
However, after her conversation with Evelyn on Friday night, viewers are concerned that the identity of Tyrone’s dad could have a much more sinister twist.
Taking to Twitter, ITV viewer @cupcakecoutur12 asked: “Is Cassie’s dad Tyrone’s dad?”
Agreeing, @CavoloChe commented: “I thought the same thing too...Gulp!”
@foxylady710 added: “Literally just thought this too.”

Although @macnamara60 believes Cassie should come clean as they wrote: “No, Cassie. Ty definitely deserves the truth. Give it to him straight."
