Cat Deeley puts her hand on Ben Shephard's knee on This Morning

This Morning viewers have called out host Cat Deeley for an annoying habit as she kept putting her hand on co-host Ben Shephard's knee during Thursday's episode of the morning programme.

During a segment where the hosts were crossing over to Craig Doyle who was presenting from Battersea Power Station, fans noticed Cat, 47, was repeatedly putting her hand on Ben's knee.

As the video link froze and they tried to get Craig back, the ITV star placed her hand on Ben as she said: "I've done that before" in reference to Craig trying out a facial machine.

Viewers rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out Cat's habit as they admitted it made them feel "uncomfortable". One person asked: "Why does Cat keep touching Ben's knee? #ThisMorning."

Another eagle-eyed fan expressed: "Makes me uncomfortable how much Cat feels Ben's leg #ThisMorning," while somebody else penned: "Hand on knee #ThisMorning."

Yet another exclaimed: "Cat get your hand off Bens knee!!! #ThisMorning."

A fifth asked: "Why is Cat holding Bens knee? #ThisMorning."

While a sixth ITV viewer agreed and said: "What’s this Cats hand on Bens knee! #ThisMorning."

Cat and Ben, 49, made their official hosting debuts as permanent presenters on Monday March 11.

After months of replacement guest hosts following Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby's exits, the pair were zeroed in on to present the ITV morning programme.

Once the news was announced, Ben said: "This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning.

"It’s an honour to be trusted with the reins, join Alison [Hammond] and Dermot [O’Leary] and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job.”

Cat expressed: "Whenever it’s on, it’s like having your friends over – funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful – like all the greatest friendships.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
