Law and Order Organized Crime fans ecstatic at Cragen comeback with more scenes to come

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Law and Order Organized Crime.

Law and Order Organized Crime fans will be seeing more of Don Cragen as he is set to return once again for next week’s episode.

Season four has been difficult for Detective Elliot Stabler (played by Christopher Meloni) after he was suspended earlier this series for seriously injuring a teen who pulled a gun on him and his team.

Something wasn’t sitting right with Sergeant Ayanna Bell (Danielle Mone Truitt), who is still recovering from a gunshot wound, when it came to the Internal Affairs Bureau Investigator Moses Warren (Malcolm Goodwin) so she enlisted some outside help.

At the end of episode seven Original Sin, Bell met up with none other than Law and Order legend retired Captain Don Cragen (Dann Florek) who she asked to do some digging.

He confirmed that Warren’s rabbi was Gus Hanson, Stabler’s dad’s ex-partner in the force who died by suicide six weeks ago.

When Bell asked what this had to do with Stabler, Cragen elaborated that Warren blamed him for what happened to his mentor.

Stabler and Hanson had a difficult past with the former unable to get his head around Hanson and his dad being corrupt cops, having previously been involved in the shooting of an unarmed kid.

How Cragen will be able to help Stabler get back to work though is unclear but nevertheless, fans of the NBC drama were thrilled to see him.

One fan on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: “Bell calling Cragen to help save Elliot's job cuz that's their problem child they both love fiercely.”

“Grandpa Cragen!” another exclaimed, with a third writing: “So glad we get Cragen again next episode!”

A fellow user thanked “Papa Cragen” for “the tea” and others commented on their “love” for the retired captain.

There will be more to come from Cragen as well as the promo for episode eight, Sins of Our Fathers, showing that he and Stabler will be caught up in a tricky situation at a diner.

As armed robbers enter a diner that Stabler and Cragen are in, it becomes clear that they are not there for the money, but for the detective.

Sins of Our Fathers will also see the return of villain Judge Clay Bonner, the father of Chief Meredith Bonner (Jennifer Ehle).

Earlier in the series, it was discovered that the chief’s brother Eric Bonner (Will Janowitz) was the serial killer they were looking for but their dad Judge Clay chose to cover up his crimes.

In the teaser for the upcoming episode, Stablers asks Meredith if her dad is behind something else and she slowly nods her head.

But what is Judge Clay doing now and is he involved in armed robbers paying Stabler a visit?
