Lorraine Kelly has shared that she's really worried about her own health after hearing that her friend Fiona Phillips has Alzheimer's.

Lorraine, a well-known face on TV in Scotland said she can't stop thinking about it, especially since Fiona talked about her struggles with brain fog and feeling anxious.

Lorraine opened up to WOMAN Magazine about her fears, saying that getting older makes her think a lot about staying healthy and not losing who she is.

She talked about Fiona, saying: "Obviously, my lovely friend Fiona has been diagnosed with dementia. She's OK, she's still here, still her. She's so bl**dy strong and has dealt with it with dignity and humour."

Lorraine feels it hits harder when it's someone close to you. She tries to keep her brain sharp by doing puzzles like Wordle and crosswords every day, and she eats healthy food too.

said dementia had "decimated" her family after her mother, father and uncle also had the disease.

But she knows dementia is a mean sickness that can happen to anyone, reports the Daily Record.

At 64 years old, Lorraine also makes sure to get checked for breast cancer regularly. She said, "I am fastidious about mammograms. You've got to take responsibility for yourself and find your normal, because all boobies are different."

She even joked about how her husband helps her by checking her breasts for anything unusual, saying: "My husband regularly checks mine. Selfless, he is Selfless!

"But that's great. He probably knows them better than I do. It's the same with women and men [checking for] testicular cancer."

Fiona, who's currently participating in a clinical trial at University College Hospital London in the hope of a cure, expressed her gratitude for the immense support from her husband Martin, aged 64.

Even though she is trying to remain upbeat, Fiona confessed that she does have concerns: "It's awful but I keep having these moments where I think, 'what's the word?'

"It doesn't happen all the time.. just occasionally. And that's just not me at all. I can normally talk until next Christmas.

"It is just weird when it happens because I'm thinking, 'Why has my mouth stopped and I'm still thinking about the sentence.' It's really weird."

Fiona presented GMTV before it became Good Morning Britain for a decade. When her diagnosis was made public, she told the BBC dementia had "decimated" her family, with her mother and uncle suffering from the illness.

Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am on ITV and ITVX.
