Chris Kamara thanks Ben Shephard 'it wouldn't have been possible without you'

Soccer Saturday legend Chris Kamara and ITV host Ben Shephard broke down in tears on Thursday's instalment of Good Morning Britain as they shared an embrace following an emotional interview.

A tearful Chris told ITV viewers: "My apologies to everybody out there who has got a speech condition because it does not define who you are.

"I get upset talking about it because I was in denial, I was ashamed that I could not speak."

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid leaned over the desk to assure Chris he had "nothing to be ashamed about" before holding his hand as he started crying.

"You've done so much to inspire other people," Susanna added as she continued to offer her support during the segment.

Later on in the interview, co-host Ben Shephard got tearful over Chris as the latter thanked the Good Morning Britain presenter for his help with his book.

They were talking about Chris' new book which is called Chris Kamara: My Unbelievable Life.

Chris told Ben: "Can I say a big thanks to you Ben because none of this would have happened without your help."

Ben was clearly moved by Chris and got up from his seat to give him a hug as the sports commentator got emotional again.

They shared a tender embrace as Susanna said: "Oh they are both going to be crying now."

Following their hug, a visibly upset Ben said to weather reporter Laura Tobin: "Right, Laura, can you do the weather now as this is very embarrassing."

Viewers took to Twitter following the interview with Chris to shower him with support.
