National Album Day (NAD) has announced its return this year with a stacked slate of limited classic LPs being reissued on vinyl be some of Britain’s greatest acts “ see the full list below.

National Album Day will take place on October 19 this year, and will follow the theme “Great British Groups”. This year, the event is presented in association with official broadcast partner BBC Radio 2. As part of this year’s celebrations, NAD has announced over 40 classic records that are being reissued on vinyl.

All of these special titles will be made available for purchase in retailers across the UK and via NAD itself “ a large number of these records will be available for pre-order from 10am BST today (September 12).

Among the titles available today are Babyshambles‘ ‘Shotter’s Nation’, Idlewild‘s ‘Warnings/Promises’, Judas Priest‘s ‘British Steel’, Daughter‘s ‘Music From Before The Storm’, Simple Minds‘ ‘Big Music’, Slowdive‘s self-titled record, T. Rex‘s ‘The Slider’, The Proclaimers‘ ‘This Is The Story’, Suede‘s ‘Dog Man Star’ and Travis‘ ‘The Man Who’ and many others.

The records available for pre-order later today (September 12) are:

Previously, National Album Day has held a variety of activities to celebrate monumental musical releases, including street art murals, record store promotions and exhibitions that showcase album sleeve artwork.

Last Year’s National Album Day celebrated music from the ’90s and included releases from Oasis, Pulp, Portishead and more. Past ambassadors include  Kylie Minogue, Lewis Capaldi, Mark Ronson, La Roux, Elbow, Paloma Faith, Blossoms, Alice Cooper, Toyah Willcox, Declan McKenna and The Corrs among many others.
