Yesterday (September 8), the NFL confirmed Kendrick Lamar as the headliner for next year’s Super Bowl Halftime show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. While the announcement was celebrated by most, some people were baffled that Kendrick Lamar was booked instead of hometown hero Lil Wayne.
One such person calling for Lil Wayne to be involved in the Super Bowl Halftime show is rap veteran Master P, who shared a post on Instagram congratulating Kendrick Lamar. He wrote: “Well deserved, he s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now.”
Later in the post, Master P “ who serves as Ambassador of Entertainment for New Orleans “ tagged NFL’s music strategist Jay-Z: “I have to agree with the fans that [Lil Wayne] should be a part of this celebration as well. He s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant and he s a New Orleans native. Let s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short!
