Spiritbox are teasing new music through the means of a puzzle – and it seems a new song could drop very soon.

Fresh from their appearances at Reading and Leeds last month, the Canadian metal band are letting fans who click a pre-save button on streaming access to a puzzle which, put together, plays a snippet of their first new music since their 2023 EP ‘The Fear of Fear’.

The puzzle is made up of various symbols that play a split second of music when they’re clicked. The pieces need to be moved into the correct sequence in order to progress to the next level.

Once the puzzle is completed, a countdown appears on the page that is set to end at some point tomorrow (September 6). Could it be a new single?

The band haven’t released a full-length album since their 2021 debut ‘Eternal Blue’.

It was revealed in January that Spiritbox were working with former Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish.

During an interview with  NME  last summer, LaPlante explained: We re just writing music that we like: sometimes it s going to be heavy-sounding or feeling; sometimes it s going to be really beautiful and light-feeling and maybe the lyrics are just a little bit heavy.

She continued: I think that we ll always make heavy music. But it s fun to know that our fans are accepting of whatever we make. They re letting us figure ourselves out in real time.

I like that they re open-minded, but they re also really honest. They don t just lap up anything we do. They re critical. I hope that we continue to attract really open-minded people.

In July, the band’s former bassist Bill Crook passed away. No cause of death has been confirmed. Crook left Spiritbox in May 2022 and was replaced by former As I Lay Dying bassist Josh Gilbert.
