The Mysterines have cancelled their upcoming UK and EU tour.
The Liverpool grunge-rock four-piece were due to kick off a string of autumn shows in Dublin on October 18. However, today (August 31) they’ve announced that the dates won’t be going ahead.
In a statement shared to Instagram, the band told fans it was “with a heavy heart” that they’re cancelling of all the planned tour dates “due to recent circumstances”. It’s unclear exactly what the circumstances are.
“We were incredibly excited to share this tour with you, but after careful consideration, it has been decided that it’s not the best decision for us at this time,” they said. “We sincerely apologise to everyone who was looking forward to seeing us perform, and we are deeply sorry for the disappointment this will cause.”
“Please know that your support means the world to us,” they continued. “Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.”
Ticket refunds will be available from the point of purchase.

The Mysterines shared their second album ‘Afraid Of Tomorrows’ earlier this year. Speaking to NME ahead of its release, singer Lia Metcalfe said that the band had a lot more confidence approaching writing this time around. I ve been through way too much to not overindulge in creating something new, when given the opportunity, she explained. The driving force behind this band has always been for it to be this outlet for creativity. Whenever I feel panicky or a bit lost, I tap into that inner child and remember why I started doing this. This new album feels unapologetic.
There are some ridiculous moments on the record but if we don t do it now, when are we going to do it? That s why I respect artists like Lou Reed and Patti Smith. They did the thing that everyone thought you shouldn t, and that s how they made their mark. That s how you create something unique.
