The gates to Glastonbury 2024 have just opened

Glastonbury Festival 2024 has officially kicked off, as its doors have just opened.

The gates officially opened at 8am this morning (June 26), permitting entry to ticketholders who have been arriving at the festival site since 4pm yesterday (June 25). Emily Eavis was in attendance to welcome festivalgoers – you can watch a clip of the gates opening below.

As Eavis walked up to the gates at Worthy Farm, a band played the iconic Rocky theme song before Emily preceded a countdown with a hearty “Welcome to Glastonbury!”

Glastonbury 2024 will welcome over 200,000 festivalgoers and stage a full bill of music, entertainment and much more up until the early hours of Monday morning (July 1).

Dua Lipa,  Coldplay, and  SZA set to headline this year’s festival, alongside Shania Twain’s legends slot at Worthy Farm. Glastonbury 2024 will see  the introduction of a new stage in the Shangri-La area, called Arrivals, which will be dedicated to South Asian talent, while  K-pop will have its first presence at the festival with a performance from Pledis boyband SEVENTEEN  on the Pyramid Stage.

Other acts performing this year include LCD Soundsystem, PJ Harvey, Little Simz, Burna Boy, Idles, Anne-Marie, Confidence Man, Disclosure, Camila Cabello, The Last Dinner Party, Avril Lavigne, The National, Jessie Ware, Jungle, Justice, Masego, Sugababes and countless more. Check out the full line-up here.
