It's the 10th anniversary of the original Destiny, and to celebrate the occasion, Bungie has added a new armor set to Destiny 2 modeled after original concept art from the game that launched its shooter MMO world. To unlock it, though, you'll have to go hunting for it, unlocking five secret treasure chests that each provide one piece of the armor.
Your chase will take you to the Pale Heart of the Traveler, where you're looking for five special treasure chests, each called Cayde's Stash. These are reminiscent of similar chests that were added to Destiny 2 after Cayde's (first) death in the Forsaken campaign, although this time out, they don't include any audio logs or lore entries. Opening each one does get you one piece of the full anniversary armor set--the Legendary Veteran suit. Each of the pieces comes with high stats, too, so they might be worth adding to your build.
To find Cayde's Stashes, head to the Pale Heart of the Traveler, to the Lost City social zone. Though the stashes are a bit scattered and hidden, you won't have to fight to get to them. Note that you'll need to have access to the Lost City transmat zone in order to search for the chests, which means you'll need to progress through the campaign of The Final Shape with each character to unlock the location.
Here's where to find each of the Cayde's Stash treasure chests to unlock the Legendary Veteran set, while also putting you on your way to earning the Legend Triumph seal and title.
Cayde's Stash 1: On the crates near Ghost
When you spawn in at the Lost City, you'll be near the railing and facing toward where Ghost hangs out to act as the Pale Heart vendor. go past Ghost toward the mailbox kiosk. Just ahead is a pile of crates, to the left of the tunnel that takes you to the old Vanguard war room, which is now the home of Micah-10's terminal. Go around the back of the pile of crates to find the stash.
Cayde's Stash 2: At Eris Morn's old haunt
Go down into the tunnel next to the crate pile into the tunnel that leads to Micah's terminal. Just inside at the bottom of the stairs is a wall you have to go around to continue forward. As you pass it, turn toward it to find the Stash chest. If you were a Destiny 1 player, you'd remember this as the location where Eris used to wait inside the Tower, to act as the vendor for The Dark Below expansion.
Cayde's Stash 3: Near the fan switch
Backtrack out of the tunnel and look back over the Tower area as you leave. To your right is a staircase up to a platform--in the original Destiny, this is where you could throw a switch that activated a fan on top of one of the buildings. You could then jump to the roof and float in the fan's air stream for a bit. You'll find the Stash up on the platform near where the switch used to be, behind the wall there.
Cayde's Stash 4: Near the hangar
Facing toward the railing with the Vanguard war room behind you, the fan switch platform is on your right; just beneath that is the passage that takes you to where the Speaker of the Traveler's chamber used to be (and is now, but as a trophy room for your Pale Heart Traveler collectibles). Go to the left wall of the area, opposite the path to the Speaker's room, and head to the corner of the area near the railing. You'll be able to go around a corner near where a Cabal guard is standing. The Stash is near the big cable, on the platform that waits there.
Cayde's Stash 5: In the Speaker's Chamber
For your final Stash, head to the Speaker's room through the passage on the opposite side of the area. When you get there, turn right and check along the right side wall for the last Stash.
Get the Legendary Veteran set universal ornaments
With all the armor pieces in-hand, you now have access to another surprise: a full set of universal armor ornaments, so you can transmogrify your gear to look like the Legendary Veteran set, free of charge. To get it, head to the Tower and access the Special Deliveries kiosk. A package will be waiting for you there, with the universal ornaments inside.
Finish up The Legend Triumph seal
Finding Cayde's Stashes should unlock the rest of the anniversary Triumph seal for the Legend title. At first, most of the Triumphs will be secret, but finding all five stashes and either returning to orbit or logging out and logging back in should reveal the rest of them. Knock out all of them to receive the Legend title and a special 10th-anniversary Destiny emblem.
