’s sister, , revealed her brother and his wife, , lost their Los Angeles home as the Pacific Palisades fire continues to ravage the Los Angeles area.
According to an Instagram post from Stephanie, Montag, 38, and Pratt, 41, lost their property as the blaze took hold of the star-studded area on Tuesday, January 7. (TMZ was first to report on the news with sources telling the outlet the “entire family was able to safely evacuate earlier in the day.”)
Us Weekly has reached out to representatives of the couple for comment.
In the late hours of Tuesday, Stephanie, 38, shared that she was devastated for her family. “Honestly looking for advice. I’m frozen in shock. How horrible for my sweet little nephews to watch their house disappear like this. They must be so scared and confused,” she captioned a photo of the fire. (Pratt married his Hills costar in November 2008 and the pair share two sons, Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months.)
Stephanie, who also appeared on The Hills, posted an Instagram Story to expand on the news. “I am beyond heartbroken for my brother, Heidi & the kids,” Stephanie posted alongside a photo of Spencer watching the blaze. “Just spoke to my dad- he tried to save my brother’s house but the wind is so strong there was nothing he could do.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Spencer took to social media to share footage of the raging fire via his Instagram Story capturing a light aircraft flying through the sky and dumping water over the affected region as thick black smoke launched off mountains in the background and foreground.
TMZ, meanwhile, shared a video of Spencer standing outside his home, his mobile phone in hand as he watched the fire devastate his neighborhood alongside a loved one. At one stage during the clip, Spencer was seen wiping his eyes as either smoke or a fleck of ash affected his sight.
The footage then captured the blaze itself as Spencer was seen pointing out to indicate how close the fire had reached.
The out-of-control wildfire, which has burned through more than 1,200 acres in Pacific Palisades which house many celebrity residents, sparked local evacuations earlier on Tuesday.

USA Today reported on Tuesday that mass evacuation orders for “roughly 30,000” residents, in addition to power shutoffs, have affected the star-studded area. The fire was first reported at around 10 a.m. after it was seen gaining momentum along West Sunset Boulevard.

Guttenberg, 66, told KTLA in an interview filmed on the street, “I live right up the hill. I have friends up there right now, and they can’t evacuate because it’s stuck on Palisades Drive. There are families up there, there are pets up there, there are people who really need help.”
The fire also cancelled multiple scheduled events in the area including the premieres for ’s new film Unstoppable, and Wolf Man starring and .
