SZA's SOS sets a new chart record this week as it logs its 12th nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard 200.
The album, which recently received its deluxe LANA edition, earned 130,000 equivalent album units in the week ending January 2. This total includes 125,500 streaming equivalent album units (166.31 million on-demand streams of the songs), 4,000 in album sales and 500 in track equivalent album units. SOS' 12th week at No. 1 officially makes it the first R&B/hip-hop album by a woman to hit that mark in 38 years; the last to surpass that record was the 14-week reign of Whitney Houston’s self-titled in 1986.
Elsewhere on the chart, Kendrick Lamar jumps to No. 2 followed by Sabrina Carpenter at No. 3, the Wicked film soundtrack at No. 4 and Billie Eilish at No. 5. Making up the bottom half of this week's top 10 are Taylor Swift at No. 6, Chappell roan at No. 7, Morgan Wallen at No. 8, Gracie Abrams at No. 9 and Tyler, the Creator at No. 10.
