With the Lunar New Year around the corner, Nike continues to commemorate the late-Kobe Bryant's legacy. For the Year of the Snake, Nike gives a Black Mamba twist to the apparel collection for Kobe Bryant's brand, dropping a limited edition "Year of the Mamba" collection that is inspired by the Nike Kobe 5 " Lunar New Year" sneaker.
Encapsulating Kobe's accomplishments in a celebratory capsule, the apparel collection features a selection of daily staples like long-sleeve shirts, joggers, crewnecks and jackets featuring the special Year of the Snake Mamba moniker. Some standout pieces include the long-sleeve shirts featured in a red, black and white selection. With a minimal Kobe logo on the chest, the back of the shirt features a snake-wrapped Kobe logo on the back wherein the snake is outlined in gold and features the five championship rings Kobe won during his time in the NBA.
The championship mindset continues throughout the capsule as it also includes cozy essentials like crewnecks and joggers featuring the Mamba detailing. For the joggers which appear in a white and black colorway, a gold mamba snakeskin pattern runs down the side of the pants. Similarly, the crewneck features two mamba snakes embroidered in gold running down the sleeves. Two premium jackets priced at $275 USD each are slated to be arriving in black and sail. They are expected to be available though the details of pieces are kept hidden for now.
The "Year of the Mamba" collection releases on Nike on January 9, 2025.
