Damian Lillard may not have stayed with the Portland Trail Blazers for his whole career, but him and adidas are officially going the distance as he has reportedly signed a lifetime contract extension with the Three Stripes. Lillard has been with adidas since joining the NBA in 2012 and landed a 10-year deal with the brand in 2014. He went on to launch his first signature shoe -- the adidas D Lillard 1 -- in 2015 and most recently debuted the adidas Dame 9 at the end of August.
Having joined the Milwaukee Bucks last season, a first round exit from the NBA Playoffs -- albeit without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo at his side -- left many wondering just how far the new version of the squad could go. However, after a rocky start to the 2024-25 NBA season, Lillard and the Bucks just won the NBA Cup, taking down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Finals. In the aftermath of the triumphant night, ESPN's Shams Charania was the first to report that Lillard has signed the aforementioned adidas deal, which has seemingly been confirmed by Lillard as his Instagram Story includes many reposts from friends congratulating him on the new deal. This move makes Lillard the fourth active NBA player to have a lifetime deal, joining LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant.
