While the theatrical run for Wicked has not ended quite yet, Universal Pictures is already drumming up excitement for the Part Two.
The studio has taken to X to reveal that the second part of the franchise film will now have the official title of Wicked: For Good. In the post from the official film's account, the studio writes, "You will be changed. Wicked: For Good, only in theaters November 21, 2025." The title appears to be named after a duet from the second act of Stephen Sondheim and Winnie Holzman’s musical of the same name Wicked: For Good. Both the first and second film were filmed back-to-back and will see Ariana Grande and Cythnia Erivo return as Glinda and Elphaba respectively. The second film picks up right after the events of "Defying Gravity."
The first film has garnered over $525 million USD at the global box office, becoming one of the most successful films this year. The film has now moved into Universal's Top 15 titles of all time in the market and globally, it is the biggest non-sequel of the year, and the No. 2 stage adaptation in history following Mamma Mia!. Wicked: For Good arrives next November.
