Japanese outdoor label Mountain Research has joined forces with London-based creative group AFFXWRKS to create a capsule collection fit for the elements.
The collaboration, billed as a "cross-generational creation that is a perfect mixed martial arts battle," was born out of a long-standing friendship between AFFX's brand director Taro Ray and Mountain Research founder Setsumasa Kobayashi. The result is a nice blend of the two labels 'codes: Mountain Research's penchant for the great outdoors and AFFXWRKS' affinity for modern utilitarianism.
The capsule's hero piece is the wading jacket, which features a hood with a face-covering flap, several pockets across the body and dual iconography on the sleeve. Elsewhere, the overalls employ a similar all-over storage design, with pockets in various sizes lining the full silhouette, and the dual long-sleeve T-shirt sees a grey-green short-sleeve top layered over a black long-sleeve in a singular piece.
Rounding out the range is the onsite bag, which boasts functional straps and a rectangular shape for ample storage, and the cap, which hosts dual iconography on its face.
The Mountain Research x AFFXWRKS collaboration is now available to shop online, with prices ranging from ¥15,070 JPY to ¥94,710 JPY. Take a look at the lineup in the gallery above.
