With the approval of Germany's Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport and the German Police, the TUNE IT! SAFE! campaign has unveiled its latest showcase vehicle, the Police BMW M2 by AC Schnitzer. The initiative highlights the possibilities of safe tuning while following regulations, with this year's project spearheaded by the Aachen-based tuning firm for the eighth time.
AC Schnitzer’s upgraded BMW M2 combines enhanced performance, striking aesthetics, and compliance with strict safety standards. The vehicle’s 3L engine now delivers an impressive 560 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, up from the factory-standard 460 HP and 405 lb-ft. An AC Schnitzer exhaust system with carbon sport tailpipes complements the performance boost with improved gas flow and a rich, distinctive sound.
Driving dynamics are elevated through AC Schnitzer’s RS adjustable suspension, tested on the Nürburgring and public roads. This system offers infinite height adjustment, along with rebound and compression tuning, lowering the M2 by 25–35 mm for improved handling. Lightweight forged AC4 wheels in TechGold, paired with ultra-high-performance Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 tires are designed to further reduce unsprung mass and enhance agility.
Aerodynamic upgrades include a front splitter and side wings generating 132 lbs of downforce and a carbon racing rear wing with a Gurney flap adding 176 lbs at the rear. A rear diffuser and design decals complete the exterior. Inside, the vehicle features AC Schnitzer exclusive aluminum enhancements, like shift paddles, pedals and an iDrive Controller cover.
