Following news of joining the cast of Peaky Blinders, Barry Keoghan enters a new era as he is set to play the famous drummer Ringo Starr in the new The Beatles film from Sam Mendes.
After several months of speculation Keoghan's role was confirmed by Starr himself when he spoke to Entertainment Tonight. He said, "I think it's great. I believe he's somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many." Deadline was the first to report of plans of casting which saw rumors of Paul Mescal circling the role of Paul McCartney, with Harris Dickinson to play John Lennon, and Joseph Quinn to portray George Harrison.
Casting details have not yet been confirmed but Sam Mendes is confirmed to lead the film. His vision is to create four separate, interconnected theatrical films of each of the members of The Beatles. Said to direct all four, it is unclear who is penning the scrip and what order they will shoot the films. The films mark the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles -- including McCartney, Starr and the families of Lennon and Harrison -- have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film. Stay tuned for more information.
