Riot Games and Netflix's League of Legends series Arcane may have officially wrapped up, but the video game developer already has three new TV series in the works.
The news was confirmed by Arcane showrunner Christian Linke, who told streamer Necrit94 that the one of the three shows already began pre-production about a year ago. "Noxus, Ionia, and Demacia are getting shows and are [the] next steps in this cinematic universe," he further revealed. "We're far from done, we're really going wide, we're looking at every region and we really now have the ability to build a slate to tell new stories and continue others."
(Spoilers ahead for those who are yet to finish Arcane season two): Additional plot details about the next three shows are yet to be revealed, but with the conclusion of the stories of Jinx, Ekko, Vi, Mel and the rest of the Arcane characters, the one storyline that could be expanded upon from the first series is Mel's return to her home of Noxus following her betrayal of both her mother, Ambessa, and the elusive Black Rose organization.
Linke previously announced, to fans' dismay, that Arcane was ending with season two as they look to share other stories in the LoL universe. "From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season," he said. "Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche."
Arcane was met with both critical and commercial acclaim, with season one going on to become the first streaming series to win an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.
