was joined by his wife, , for a rare red carpet appearance over the weekend.
The couple stepped out in New York City on Sunday, November 24, to celebrate the Beatles ’64 documentary, which premiered at the Hudson Square Theater. McCartney, 82, kept it casual in a denim shirt under a blazer paired with black pants. Shevell, 65, held on to her husband’s arm while posing for photos in an all-black outfit.
The musician was only briefly photographed with Shevell before posing with the premiere’s other attendees. The event marked the first time the couple has made a public appearance together since the Winter 2024 Paris Fashion Week Show earlier this year.
, , , ’s son and Disney CEO were among the celebrity attendees at the premiere. Ethan Hawke also moderated a Q&A segment after the screening on Sunday.
Scorsese, 82, produced the film, which tells the story of The Beatles first trip to America in February 1964. The documentary has “never-before-seen footage” and “gives a rare glimpse into when The Beatles became the most influential and beloved band of all time,” the official description reads. McCartney was all smiles at the screening with Shevell, whom he met in 2007 while staying in the Hamptons. They were spotted kissing later that year, making headlines for their 17-year age gap. (McCartney was previously married to , who died in 1998 following a battle with breast cancer. Then, he and ex-wife were married from 2002 to 2008.)
Following his divorce from Mills, the singer went public with Shevell. They announced their engagement in May 2011 and got married in October of that year.
For Valentine’s Day in 2023, McCartney revealed that he loves to celebrate his wife.
“I completely overdo Valentine’s Day! I mean, there’s not just one card, there are cards hidden around the room, and sometimes things even spill into the next day — it’s completely silly,” McCartney wrote on his website at the time. “If there’s an excuse to have some fun, I overdo it!”
He added, “I try to be helpful as a husband too. If there’s a problem, I like to be the guy that will lend some strength to it. I’m always very happy to be the person Nancy relies on, and to be her strength when she goes through tough times.”
Beatles ’64 premieres via Disney+ on Friday, November 29.
