Sha'Carri Richardson took to social media on Friday to reveal Nike's newest women's footwear model, the Nike Air Superfly, in a series of studio shots for the sportswear giant.
"1 of 1! The only one! New Nike Women Air silhouette!" Richardson captioned the carousel on Instagram, in which the track-and-field star and two-time Olympic gold medalist styles the sneaker with a Nike track jacket, a ruffled skirt and knee-high socks.
The silhouette builds on an archival Nike model, which was originally designed by Caprice Neely and released in 2001. Notably, the flagship sneaker was later used as the blueprint for a Comme des Garçons collaboration down the line.
Here, Richardson's version looks much like that OG shoe, with a sleek, running-inspired shape that features a sleek silver upper and shiny black tongue, both of which are perforated from front to back, and a smooth midsole. The signature Swoosh resides on the back of the design, and the Nike Air logo signs the tongue, while branding is kept minimal elsewhere.
Nike has not yet shared official release information for the new Women's Superfly, though Richardson did note in her caption that the silhouette is "coming soon..." In the meantime, take a look at the design in the gallery above.
