gave a positive update on wife ’s health battle.

“She’s doing really well thanks,” the Prince of Wales told reporters on Wednesday, November 6, before his Earthshot Prize awards in Cape Town, Africa. “Hopefully, she is watching tonight. Cheering me on.”

William’s comment came nearly two months after Kate, 42, revealed that she completed a course of chemotherapy amid her ongoing cancer battle.

“She’s been amazing this whole year,” William, 42, continued. “I know she will be really keen to see tonight be a success.”

The Princess of Wales has been keeping a low-profile since announcing in March that she was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer. She has started to ramp up her public appearances since revealing in September that she had completed chemotherapy treatments.

While Kate is set to attend the National Service of Remembrance ceremony in London on Sunday, November 10, she did not accompany her husband on his trip to South Africa. She opted to stay at home in England with the couple’s three kids, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.

Since William was in town to support his Earthshot Prize, the Prince of Wales detailed how he and his family support the environment in their own home. (William founded the Earthshot Prize in 2020, and each year 5 winners receive a $1.3 million to continue their environmentally focused ventures.)

“Every family tries to do what they can to sort of help with the environment,” he told reporters on Wednesday. “We go through all the basics of recycling and making sure we minimize water use and turning off lights when we leave the house and stuff like that, and making sure, which is sensible, in what we do around the environment.

He added: “I think every family has these conversations. You just try to do what you can.”

While attending the event, William also discussed the “papa” friendship bracelet he’s been wearing for the duration of his trip.

“Well, this is a relic, if you like, from a concert that my daughter decided that she wanted to create a bracelet for,” he shared. “She gave it to me when I came away. So, I promised that I’d wear it and try not to lose [it] while I was out here.”

William accompanied George and Charlotte to Swift’s Eras Tour in London where they met the singer, and her boyfriend, , backstage.

“Dude, he was the coolest motherf—er,” Travis said on an episode of his “New Heights” podcast at the time. “He was so cool!”
