London-based brand _J.L-A.L_ has enlisted Marzotto for a special capsule that combines its contemporary flare with the Italian company's nearly 200-year-old heritage in fine textile manufacturing. Synthesizing their respective prowess, the two labels have released a concise capsule of warm wool garments enhanced with technical innovations and designed with refined elegance.
_J.L-A.L_'s minimalist sensibilities are palpable in the monochromatic five-piece line, which includes three jackets, a pair of trousers and a handbag. Each piece is made in a three-layer construction comprising a virgin wool shell with innovative DWR coating, a water-resistant membrane, and a brushed grid backing. DWR stands for "durable water-repellent", describing a special polymer applied directly to threads that optimizes the fabric for usage in wet conditions.
The first of the three outerwear silhouettes is a mid-length coat boasting a double collar, fit for more formal styling. The remaining silhouettes are standard waist-length jackets, one with a mock-neck collar and the other featuring a hefty ski-style hood. The trousers feature darting at the waist and diagonal pleats at the thigh providing the bottoms with a supremely tailored fit.
Each garment is cut using ergonomic patterns and a technical seam-sealed construction that imbues the line with a futuristic sensibility. Take a closer look at the impressive design details applied to each piece in the gallery above.
