In typical Jordan Brand fashion, the Jumpman team took advantage of the summer and NBA offseason to introduce the latest entry in the Air Jordan series, revealing the Air Jordan 39. The new sneaker focuses solely on performance, as opposed to the aesthetics provided by other sneakers in the line. Since then, many different colorways have emerged, including a collaboration with A Ma Maniére.
The latest additions to the lineup of upcoming Air Jordan 39 releases sees two black and white compositions prepared. Pictured first is the "Croix" colorway, which takes the textured base of the sneaker and wraps it in white as black hits the toe overlay and lacing system. A "Dark Powder Blue" breaks up the monochrome nature of the composition by bringing color to the tongue's Jumpman logo. As for the second pair, it dons the all-too-familiar "Barons" color combination, one that nods to Michael Jordan's time playing for the Birmingham Barons' baseball team. It was first referenced with 2014's AJ1 and AJ9 releases and features a black base with white detailing elsewhere.
At the time of writing, Jordan Brand has not discussed when the "Croix" and "Barons" colorways of the Air Jordan 39 will be releasing. Stay tuned for updates as we currently expect both pairs to arrive on shelves by the end of the year via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a starting price of $200 USD each.
