MINI Launches Two New John Cooper Works Models

MINI has unveiled the all-new John Cooper Works (JCW) Electric at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, marking a significant step in the brand's commitment to electrification. This all-electric model brings MINI's performance model into the electric era, showcasing up to 190 kW (258 hp) of power and updated aerodynamics.

The MINI JCW Electric can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds and features a top speed of 125 mph, with 258 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle's 54.2 kWh battery ensures a range of up to 230 miles, according to the WLTP test cycle, allowing for an extended, emission-free drive.

MINI's engineers have embraced their motorsport roots with features like a race-inspired suspension, an electric boost function for extra power and a driver-activated "go-kart mode" for a more exciting ride. The model also boasts an aerodynamically optimized design, complete with exclusive 18-inch wheels and a distinctive red, white and black color scheme that pays homage to MINI’s racing heritage.

Stefan Richmann, Head of MINI, emphasized the brand’s commitment to blending tradition with innovation, stating, "We are combining the tradition and character of the MINI brand with the latest technology to create a unique driving experience."

In addition to the JCW Electric model, MINI has also unveiled the JCW Aceman, offering similar performance capabilities with a slightly slower 0 to 60 mph time of 6.4 seconds and a range of up to 220 miles but with added passenger and cargo room.

At the time of writing, specifics on price and availability have not yet been shared.
