White Mountaineering is back again with a third Uniqlo collaboration, centering on a down jacket made from recycled materials. The eco-conscious collaboration is an extension of Uniqlo's RE.UNIQLO initiative, a sustainable project aimed at prolonging the utility of the clothing to build a circular society.
The jacket is made with 100% recycled down collected, disassembled and cleaned from pre-owned Uniqlo outerwear. Padding within the sleeves also comes from 100% recycled polyester. The unisex jacket is available in three Fall colors including black, burgundy, and a warm charcoal. Diamond quilting is progressively enlarged down the torso and is contrasted with rectangular panels that go down the outer sleeves. The simple contemporary design makes the piece suitable both as a first-layer under heavier outerwear or even as stand alone jacket for mild winter weather.
The piece fits neatly into White Mountaineering's own FW24 collection, which features Autumn staples reinterpreted with the Japanese brand's contemporary outdoor sensibilities. White Mountaineering and Uniqlo's last capsule, introduced in late-September, featured a duo of liner-style pullovers and fleece hoodies.
The White Mountaineering x Uniqlo Recycled Down Jacket will be released on Friday, October 11 exclusively at Uniqlo's web store.
