An alleged car thief thought he escaped cops – until he was found inside a garbage bin, naked.

The naked man took off running after deputies stopped his ‘suspicious vehicle’ in Frederickson, Washington.

He jumped multiple fences before Pierce County Sheriff’s Department deputies lost sight of him. That’s when they brought in their K9, Bronco, to assist.

Body camera footage shows the large black dog on a harness barking fiercely and leading deputies to a blue trash can in a backyard. A deputy lifts the lid slightly, revealing the suspect inside.

‘Hey dude, come out of there right now or you’re going to get bit by a dog,’ a deputy can be heard saying.

As the dog continues barking, the suspect sticks both hands out of the bin, with the lid still covering his head.

‘Hands up, hands up,’ yell the deputies. ‘Stand up. Turn around.’

The naked man emerges with his back to the deputies, as ordered, and puts his hands behind his back.

‘Don’t worry about the dog,’ says a deputy as the K9 keeps sounding off at the suspect.

The man was taken into custody without incident.

‘This suspect continuously tried to evade law enforcement until he came eye to eye with K9 Bronco,’ stated the sheriff’s department last week.

‘Only wearing a birthday suit, he finally made a good decision and surrendered to our deputies.’

The man had several felony warrants out for him and was known to have firearms.

During the weird encounter on the morning of August 21, a deputy had run the license plate of the vehicle and recognized the owner as the passenger in a Ford F550 truck that had been stolen 10 days earlier.

The man’s four-year-old child left the vehicle was taken to safety by deputies, but the suspect and his girlfriend did not cooperate, stated the sheriff’s office.

Deputies fired a hole in the rear window of he vehicle using a 40mm less lethal round, prompting the woman to say she was getting dressed. At that moment, the man fled and hid in the trash can, where he was ultimately caught.

‘Awesome Job Deputies and Good boy BRONCO!!!’ concluded the sheriff’s department.

The suspect has been identified as Jacob Matthew Patterson and faces eight charges including unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, attempting to elude police, unlawful imprisonment, property damage and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Patterson has been booked into Pierce County Jail with his bail set at $300,000, reported FOX 13 Seattle.

It was not immediately known why he was naked.
