The mum of Baby P has been recalled to prison after breaching her licence conditions.

Tracey Connelly, 42, was jailed at the Old Bailey in 2009 for causing or allowing the death of her 17-month-old son Peter at their home in Tottenham, north London, on August 3 2007.

She was released on licence in 2013, but recalled to prison in 2015 for breaching her parole conditions.

Connelly was freed again in 2022 after probation officers said she was unlikely to offend again.

A prisons spokesman has confirmed that she has now been recalled for a second time after breaching her licence conditions.

He told Metro.co.uk: ‘Offenders released on licence are subject to strict conditions and we do not hesitate to recall them to prison if they break the rules.’

The tragic death of 17-month-old baby Peter sparked outrage after he was found dead in their north London home.

Peter had been in Connelly’s care when he died in the hands of her paedophile partner Steven Barker. The youngster had suffered more than 50 horrific injuries in eight months before his death.

Her actions were described as ‘cruelty’ and ‘pure evil’ by the former Justice Secretary Dominic Raab in 2022, who opposed her release.

Peter’s grandmother, Mary O’Connor, previously told The Sun she never wants to see her daughter out of prison.

Mary, a cancer sufferer who was given a terminal diagnosis in 2022 when her daughter was freed, said: ‘She needs to be in jail for life, she shouldn’t be out.’

Steven Barker, the partner of Connelly, was jailed for at least 32 years for torturing Peter to death, and Connelly’s brother received a six-year term for allowing him to die.

When Connelly was recalled to prison in 2015, she had allegedly also developed ‘intimate personal relationships’ online along with selling naked pictures of herself.

She was cleared for release in 2022 due to a low risk of reoffending.

It came after three rejected bids in 2015, 2017 and 2019.Her bail conditions two years ago included restrictions on her movement, activities and who she can contact while living at a specific address.

Along with extra 20 licence conditions, her use of the internet and phone were monitored, and she was told not to go to certain places to avoid ‘contact with victims and to protect children,’ the conditions set out.
