A woman who went out for a walk was mauled to death by a pack of 25 Great Danes dogs on the loose known to be terrorizing the area for years.
Davina Corbin, 56, failed to return home after going for a walk near her home eat of Lake Oroville in Northern California, and her body was found on a dirt road on August 8, according to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office.
Her bofy had ‘numerous bite marks’, a forensic pathologist reported in her autopsy.
While executing a search warrant for a home on Blackhawk Trail, detectives found about 25 Great Dane dogs.
Butte County Animal Control responded and detectives and deputies ‘spent the entire day capturing the dogs, who were running loose in the area’, stated the sheriff’s office on Facebook. They managed to catch all but two of the canines.
DNA testing of Corbin’s clothing showed that the Great Danes attacked her.
‘Detectives located evidence giving them cause to believe Ms. Corbin, who resides in the area, was walking when she was attacked by the dog(s),’ stated the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information on the mauling is asked to contact the sheriff’s office, or animal control for leads on the two outstanding dogs’ whereabouts.
