A prison guard who was filmed having sex with an inmate inside HMP Wandsworth has pleaded guilty to misconduct.
Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, faces a jail sentence following her ‘shocking breach of the public’s trust’.
The footage shows De Sousa Abreu, who is married, having sex with inmate Linton Weirich, 36, in June as her radio crackles with messages in the background.
His cellmate records the encounter on his phone, saying: ‘This is how we roll in Wandsworth.’
De Sousa Abreu, of Fulham, southwest London, admitted one charge of misconduct in public office when she appeared at Isleworth Crown Court today.
Her sentencing has been adjourned until November.
The charge states that De Sousa Abreu ‘wilfully and without reasonable excuse or justification misconducted yourself in a way which amounted to an abuse of the public’s trust in the office holder by engaging in a sexual act with a prisoner in a prison cell’.
The mother was arrested at Heathrow Airport and was due to catch a flight to Madrid having notified the prison of her travel plans.
Senior Crown Prosecutor Tetteh Turkson said: ‘This was a shocking breach of the public’s trust. De Sousa was clearly an enthusiastic participant who wrongly thought she would avoid responsibility.
‘The CPS recognises there is no excuse for any prison officer who conducts themselves in such a manner, and we will never hesitate to prosecute those who abuse their position of power.
‘After working closely with the Metropolitan Police to build the strongest possible case, De Sousa had no option but accept she was guilty. She will now rightly face the consequences of her actions.’

De Sousa Abreu, who holds a Portuguese passport, was granted conditional bail, and will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on November 7.
Linton Weirich, 36, was jailed in April after raiding a property in Kensington, west London, in March 2022.
He stole a litany of handbags, jewellery and a laptop which were kept inside a safe in the luxury flat.
Weirich has a partner outside of jail who is said to be seven months pregnant, and was hospitalised due to the stress seeing the video caused.
Images posted to his Instagram show him with the same arm tattoos as the man in the video.
At one point, someone appears to try to come into the cell, at which the man filming, can be heard saying to the person on the other side of the door ‘give me a minute, one second.’
