Shocking photographs show how a full-on brawl erupted at a beach bar in Majorca, with shirtless men chucking chairs at staff.

The rampage was allegedly sparked when one of the men was asked to leave the premises due to being drunk and rowdy, and reacted angrily, attacking staff and threatening to call family as back-up on Saturday night.

El Peñon beach bar in Palma descended into chaos, with a worker so seriously injured he had to be taken to hospital after being hit with a bar stool, it was reported.

Three Spanish men aged 48, 42 and 43 were arrested when police arrived, accused of violent disorder, assault and making death threats.

The problems allegedly began when a party taking place on rocks in Ciudad Jardin outside the club spilled over when people came inside to use the toilets.

One ‘very drunk’ man ‘began to hit people, throw things on the floor and mess with the waiters and customers’, Ultima Hora claimed.

He became irate when he was asked to leave, and called his relatives to join him.

During the disorder, they allegedly shouted ‘We are gypsies from Son Banya, more than 50 of us are coming and we are going to kill you all.’

An off-duty Civil Guard officer was present in the bar when the incident took place, and informed his police colleagues what had happened when they arrived.

Damage to the bar was ‘considerable’ including a broken window, and broken furniture, glasses and plates, and at least one person was left with a ‘large open wound’, it was reported.

In another report of the incident, Spanish newspaper Diario de Mallorca said the three men arrested were all related and had threatened to ‘destroy your premises’.

The three men appeared in court on Monday morning and were released on bail.

El Penon’s website describes it as ‘a family business founded in 1957. Located in a unique setting, with unrivalled views over the Bay of Palma, it gives it a distinctive atmosphere that will turn your evenings into an experience to remember.’
