The dad of one of Brianna Ghey’s killers has been unmasked as a sex offender.

Kyle Ratcliffe, 36, has been jailed for 15 months after admitting two counts of exposure and one count of taking an indecent photo of a child.

Ratcliffe, from Leigh, admitted exposing himself on two occasions, on November 22 and 23 last year.

He committed the offences just days before his son Eddie’s murder trial began at Manchester Crown Court on November 27.

The truck company manager, who also ran a kickboxing gym, appeared at the same court to admit his guilt. He’d been charged with the three offences on January 17.

Before being exposed as a sex offender, neighbours described the family as pleasant and respectable. He and his son Eddie both competed at the Amateur World Championships in kickboxing in Jamaica in 2018.

Eddie Ratcliffe, 16, was given a life sentence with a minimum of 20 years behind bars this month for the murder of trans teen Brianna last year.

She was stabbed 28 times in the head, neck and chest with a hunting knife the younger Ratcliffe took with him after weeks of planning.

He and co-conspirator Scarlett Jenkinson were just 15 when they committed the ‘frenzied and ferocious’ murder after luring Brianna to Culcheth Linear Park, near Warrington on February 11 last year.

Sentencing the killers at Manchester Crown Court judge Mrs Justice Yip said: ‘Brianna was only 16 years old when she was killed. She had her whole life ahead of her.

‘Brianna had some struggles that made her vulnerable, but she was supported by a loving family who wanted nothing but the best for her.

‘Sadly no-one will know what she would have achieved in her life.’
