Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk 'set to make same decision' over Liverpool futures

Liverpool's dynamic duo Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are reportedly set to extend their contracts at Anfield by an additional two years, as per recent speculations.

The pair have been instrumental in Liverpool's success and continue to be key players with the club currently leading the Premier League table.

Despite the buzz of uncertainty around some of the team's star players, with Van Dijk, Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold all approaching contract expiry dates next summer, Liverpool are keen to secure their futures.

According to The Athletic discussions are ongoing, although financial details are yet to be finalised and no immediate announcement is expected.

Salah, who has been in dazzling form, had previously hinted at a possible departure, but his focus remains on contributing to Liverpool's title chase.

After netting a goal in the recent victory against West Ham, Salah addressed the contract talks, stating: "No, we are far away from that [contract] and I don't want to put anything in the media.

"The only thing on my mind is I want Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of that. I will do my best for the team to win the trophy. There is a few other teams catching up with us and we need to stay focused and humble and go again."

Van Dijk has been the most reticent about his future, and of Liverpool's three key players, he is the one most likely to stay without causing a stir. Once Salah and their Dutch centre-back are secured, Liverpool's attention will likely turn to Alexander-Arnold.

The right-back, who has risen from the academy to the first team and won every possible honour at Anfield, is being watched by Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold has been a standout player for the Reds but may be looking for a new challenge outside the Premier League.

He is close friends with Real star Jude Bellingham, and Spanish reports suggest that a deal is already in the works to secure the Liverpool man.
