Greg Norman drops major LIV Golf leak with future as CEO in doubt
LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman has seemingly let slip the breakaway league's intentions to take their season-ending Team Championship to Japan.
LIV, along with Norman, recently revealed several alterations to the 2025 league schedule, including the introduction of two new events.
The first will bring the renegade league to Indianapolis for its debut, while the second marks a maiden voyage to Asia with an event in South Korea.
Norman, who has long been an advocate for expanding men's professional golf globally, is evidently making good on his promise by adding these new stops to the LIV calendar.
His ambitions appear to stretch even further, as evidenced by his recent meeting with Japan Golf Tour chairman Yutaka Morohoshi.

"Now I'm grateful to be working in expanding @livgolf_league into the podium of golf. And to think 22 of the top 50 woman golfers are from! ! The inadvertent peek was given away in his social media post where the Shark was snapped in front of a screen with the text: "LIV Golf Japan."
"Opportunity to launch LIV Golf in Japan starting in 2026, either as a regular season event or season-ending LIV Golf Team Championship."

The revelations about LIV's schedule coincide with swirling speculations about Norman's tenure as CEO.
Reports last month by Sports Business Journal hinted that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) could be scouting for a fresh face at the helm of LIV, possibly sidelining the Australian legend.

Confronting the rumours, Norman confirmed his contract details in an interview with Sports Illustrated earlier this month: "I'll answer it this way: My contract is through August of 2025.
"My commitment to LIV has been unquestioned and my commitment to the future is also unquestioned. Time will tell. Will there be a change in my role? My position and my role is to deliver 2025 and get our schedule done and all the things we need to do."
