Lorraine Kelly has spoken out against cosmetic procedures, slamming the growing trend of women getting Botox and fillers.

The ITV host has said the invasive treatments are "ruining" women’s faces and has called for more acceptance of our natural looks.

In an interview with Woman’s Own magazine, as reported by the Daily Mail, the 64-year-old said: “Women are having surgery younger and younger. A 19-year-old does not need Botox. So many women have ruined their faces with filler.

"I think I look fine as I am and I will never go under the knife.” She added, “I like my laughter lines – a much nicer way of saying wrinkles.”

The Scottish presenter also expressed concern over the pressure women feel to alter their appearance. “I hate that women make themselves miserable every time they look in the mirror. Your wrinkles tell a story,” she said.

Lorraine added although it's an individual's choice whether or not to have work done, she wishes "we could all be a little more accepting of ourselves and the ageing process".

For cosmetic procedures, Botox is commonly injected into the forehead, around the eyes and in the neck to temporarily smooth wrinkles.

Botox is also used to treat several health conditions including chronic migraines, Cervical dystonia, a neurological disorder that causes neck and shoulder muscle contractions, and more.

Botox and filler has been widely used in recent years with influencers and Hollywood stars popularising the treatments.

Influencer Molly-Mae, who rose to fame on the reality dating show Love Island, spoke about how "blessed" she feels that she was able to "fix" the excessive amount of filler she put into her face - having them dissolved.

Speaking in May 2022, Molly-Mae said she looked five years younger after getting her lip and jaw filler dissolved.

Fellow Love Islander Faye has also spoken about her regrets from cosmetic facial injections, saying she felt she "ruined her face" by using so much lip filler.

She detailed the challenges of reversing her cosmetic procedures, saying her overfilled lips were left wrinkled and stretched after the filler was dissolved. “It was like a deflated balloon,” she said, revealing that she later needed a small amount of filler re-added to restore elasticity.

But experts warn that many young Brits continue to seek treatments from cheaper, unregulated sources, potentially facing similar regrets without the means to reverse the damage.
