Strictly's Amy Dowden 'gutted' as she shares emotional update after pulling out
Amy Dowden confessed her disappointment on Friday's Lorraine as she opened up about the latest Strictly Come Dancing developments.
The beloved BBC One dance show is gearing up for its much-awaited Blackpool Tower Ballroom special this weekend, a significant event for the competing celebrities and their professional dance partners.
Amy, 34, shared her sorrow last week over having to bow out of the competition due to a foot injury.
The Welsh ballroom expert returned to the BBC hit for its landmark 20th series after a hiatus last year while she was treated for stage three breast cancer. In February, Amy joyfully revealed that she had "no evidence of disease".
With Amy sidelined, her celebrity partner, JLS sensation JB Gill, 37, has teamed up with pro dancer Lauren Oakley, ready to take on the challenge at Blackpool this weekend, reports Wales Online.

She told the stand-in presenter: "It's the goal, everyone wants to make it to Blackpool there's something so special in there!"
She lamented: "I'm just so gutted I won't be dancing there this weekend! It's definitely not the way I wanted it but I'm so proud of JB, Lauren's doing a great job."
Speaking about the TV dance series, the star dancer highlighted their strategy for success, remarking: "Obviously I planned the series for him to have his best numbers towards the end to get him to that final as he's so talented. I've seen the quickstep, everyone's in for a treat, I think there's more tens coming!"

Nothing to do with my injury last year, so yeah I'm just absolutely gutted.
"I need to rest for a couple of weeks so unfortunately JB has obviously got to continue, he's got the amazing Lauren. Hopefully I'll be back dancing in some capacity, maybe a group number by the end of the series fingers crossed!"

During the emotional television moment, Amy struggled to contain her feelings and was comforted by the host Janette Manrara, tearfully admitting: "Sorry, I'm heartbroken! Being back with the Strictly family was the best rehab."
In a further statement, Amy underlined: "I'm just gutted but this injury could have happened to anybody. I want to stress it's nothing to do with any previous health scares or what I've been through. It's just one of those things, it happens!"
